We are really happy with YA Mortdale. We moved from Erskineville to Oatley 6 months ago and so dang lucky this place was newly opened so had spots avail. Everything is new and clean and probably bit more loved with kids germs now but still looks pristine. Was nervous about our toddler (2yo wild gal who with big emotions) moving to new place as she really loved her old daycare but she absolutely adores this place and the educators (shout out to Manita and Sharni who I rekn she likes more than her parents!). The only call out is that the centre bit more challenging to walk in to as it's on third level of a little mini shopping centre (only has dozen or so stores) and can't leave pram at the daycare. But they do have allocated parking for the daycare so it's really easy to drive. Woolies on ground floor too so really convenient for groceries. We'd recommend this place to anyone. Jess is the centre manager there and a legend - super friendly, knowledgeable and great with parents and kids. You should def check it out. Cheers.

I tried to post this review on google last week and it was denied so here it goes again. I had high hopes for YA daycare, especially given its shiny new facilities and modern equipment. However, my experience left me deeply disappointed and concerned, particularly when it comes to the health and safety of the children. If you care about your child's nutrition or want to minimize risk to them please do not send your precious ones here. YA employs men who change nappies against parental request. This made me deeply uncomfortable which was expressed to management. I have no issues with male educators but a preference for females changing nappies due to the increased risk of harm (Google: "Daycare Abuse Australia" 99% charged are male employees). Had I known male staff would have access to my child's privates before signing up I would not have enrolled them. A big red flag was when a male Pakistani student with no experience was placed in the nursery without notifying parents until the day of his placement. YA updated a policy about male staff not changing nappies but it was reversed and not all parents were informed of the policy change. Their relaxed approach to nutrition is another concern. They feed toddlers junk food like Milo despite the manufacturer stating on the tin it is not recommended for children under 5. I assumed they followed the Munch and Move menu, but when I inquired, Jess explained they do but it's more of a guideline and they are free to change the menu and add Milo drinks/snacks. I'm all for changing the menu but swapping for junk food is not ideal. There was no consultation with parents which is another red flag. Lastly, when hand, foot and mouth broke out in the nursery room, they continued moving the toddlers and preschoolers into the nursery room in the morning and afternoon of the break out putting additional children's health at risk. Overall, this centre seems more interested in appearances than providing a safe and healthy environment for children. Concerns are dismissed and not taken seriously. Carers seeking a safe place that prioritizes children's well-being should steer clear of Young Academics Mortdale If this review is denied again I will happily rewrite with photos of communication and screenshots supporting each statement above.

As a first-time mum, I was nervous about enrolling my daughter in childcare when returning to work, but I couldn’t be happier with Young Academics Mortdale. Jess, Lauren, Phoebe, and the rest of the Nursery team are incredible. They genuinely care about the children's wellbeing and go above and beyond to ensure each child feels safe and comfortable. The range of activities they offer supports the children’s physical, social, and emotional development. My daughter settled in quickly and is thriving thanks to their exceptional care.

I highly recommend Young Academics at Mortdale. The staff are brilliant and keep us well informed about our daughters day, with stories and pictures everyday through the app. The centre is new, modern and very clean, with a great large undercover outdoor area. We have been extremely impressed and we are so happy we chose this centre.
