Templestowe Kids Early Learning Centre - NOW OPEN!

We’ve had a truly wonderful experience with Templestowe kids . From the moment i walked in, it was clear that the staff genuinely care about the emotional well-being of each child. The educators are warm, attentive, and create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and truly valued. My child quickly formed strong, trusting bonds with the teachers, which made drop-offs so much easier. The centre’s focus on emotional development is evident in how they encourage empathy, resilience, and self-expression through play and gentle guidance. I’m am constantly impressed by how the staff take the time to understand each child’s unique personality and needs. The communication with parents is also fantastic – i always feel informed and involved in my child’s growth and daily experiences. It gives me real peace of mind to know that my child is not only learning but also being nurtured in such a caring and emotionally secure environment. We’re so grateful to have found this centre!

After a week of experiencing a new childcare center and seeing how quickly my son settled in—without even a second of crying when I drop him off—I felt it was important to share my experience with Templestow kids center from a few months ago. My son was nappy rash five times at this center. I overlooked it three times, but on two occasions, he developed a severe nappy rash. One of them was so bad he couldn’t sleep at night. The last time, the educator had clearly noticed the rash but still changed his nappy without applying any Sudocrem or ointment. I only realised how serious it was when I brought him home and he was crying from the pain. It was a heartbreaking and cruel level of neglect. Each time I raised my concerns, the management claimed that my son’s poo was “too acidic”—something I had never seen in over two years. What upset me most was how they ignored the severe rash covering his entire bottom and didn’t even apply any cream. I also had issues with an educator in his room named Ash. She had very poor communication skills— She seemed to struggle just to lift her head and say good morning and never once tried to hold or connect with my son. Every morning I had to leave him crying intensely, and it broke my heart. When I gave my notice to leave the center, they told me there was a required 4-week notice period. I accepted that. But immediately after giving notice, all records about my son disappeared—no updates on his meals, nap times, or even a single photo, neither on the app nor on the photo board. I ignored it for one day, but when it happened again the next day, it felt as if my son didn’t even exist in the center. After I expressed how upset I was, the management—who had always tried to justify everything—suddenly admitted it was a “mistake” and agreed that I could stop sending my son there without serving the full four weeks. For children who cannot yet speak, I do not recommend this center. While there are some kind and professional educators here, this review reflects my personal experience and I felt it was important to share.

Templestowe Kids is a fantastic place to send your kids. I was always hesitant in sending my children to childcare but as soon as I did the tour there I know that my children will be in the best hands. My son was very attached to me and cried at drop off but the staff at Templestowe Kids always made him feel safe and secure and now he loves it and looks forward to going to kinder. The centre is so clean and the children get served some of the best food. There is always extra activities that the kids participate in and my son looks forward to all of them. I couldn't be happier sending my son there. Well done to Malvina and the staff on creating such a great environment for our kids to learn and grow in.
