The Centre is purpose built comprising of 2 rooms, and 3 separate yard areas. The rooms are designed to enable children of differing ages to be cared for in developmentally appropriate surroundings, and are classified as the ”Orange Room? for children 6 weeks to 3 years, and the ”Yellow Room? for children 3 to 6 years. The Director will be able to advise you of the room selection for your child.
The Centre operates Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year and closes only for gazetted public holidays. Families are advised when the Centre will close over the Christmas period- plenty of notice is given.
The Centre offers a full educational program, based on both individual developmental needs, and small and large group criteria. The program is interest based and flexible in its approach with a strong influence on children’s choice. The Centre has embraced the Early Years Learning Framework (National Curriculum), and utilizes this document as a basis for the content and delivery of the program. The Centre has also developed an in-depth Philosophy which is the basis of our practice and approach.
The highly qualified educators which make up the team at Tabourie Child Care are committed to providing the highest level of education and care possible for each child and their family. They all have current Working with Children checks, current first Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
The Centre considers the relationship born between families and this facility to be of the utmost importance, and looks forward to building a mutually respectful and trusting relationship.
Assessment of the Centre’s Practices
The National Quality Standard was informed by research about best practice and the way in which high quality education and care contributes to positive outcomes for children. It comprises quality areas, standards and elements. The seven quality areas in the National Quality Standard are:

1. Educational program and practice
2. Children’s health and safety
3. Physical environment
4. Staffing arrangements
5. Relationships with children
6. Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
7. Leadership and service management.

The National Quality Standards are linked to National learning frameworks that recognise children learn from birth and outline practices to support and promote children’s learning.
The National Quality Standard sets a new National benchmark for the quality of children's education and care services. It will also give services and families a better understanding of a quality service. This enables families to make informed decisions about the services providing education and care to their child. The National Quality Standard is accompanied by a national quality rating and assessment process that reflects a national approach to the assessment and reporting of the quality of education and care services across the variety of service settings.
A key focus of the National Quality Framework is to promote continuous quality improvement. From 1 January 2012, children's education and care services covered under the Education and Care Services National Law will begin to be assessed and rated against the National Quality Standard. The relevant regulatory authority in each state and territory undertakes the assessment and rating process and is the point of contact for any questions services may have about the assessment and rating process. ACECQA will provide oversight of the assessment and rating system.
In November 2015 the Centre was rated as Exceeding across all 7 Areas.
