About Sunkids Childrens Centre - Boondall East
Sunkids Boondall East is a beautiful, purpose-built centre that caters for 75 children from 6 weeks to school age throughout five fully-serviced, modern learning rooms designed specifically for each age group.
The centre features two large, shaded outdoor play areas complete with sandpits, bike tracks, rock river bed and water pump, a raised performance deck and interactive garden beds.
Within our rooms, youâll find beautiful places where children can feel safe and at home. We provide a variety of modern learning resources, cosy nooks, tranquil reading hubs, and engaging play spaces, all of which supports quality interactions amongst our children and educators.
Every child at Sunkids Boondall East benefits from our standard inclusions such as on-site chefs preparing nutritious gourmet meals daily, complimentary extra-curricular yoga, music and sports programs, complimentary nappies and wipes, and access to state-of-the-art learning resources.
Youâll find Sunkids Boondall East on the corner of Sandgate and Roscommon Roads, adjacent to Boondall State School. Sunkids is also near IGA Boondall, Taigum Square, and Boondall Train Station. This convenient location makes us the perfect choice for families within Boondall, Taigum, Zillmere, Nudgee, Fitzgibbon and Bracken Ridge.

A centre to definitely to AVOID. Significant management issues: - Child ratios not maintained on multiple occasions - Lack of supervisions, child gets a head injury and no one has any idea what happened. When asked the management just lies on required forms suggesting first aid was provided. Multiple occasions of these. - our kid was told that he is only allowed one bowl per meal and our kid was hungry all the time. - When raised to feed our child by another parent, the educator shoved the spoon in our child's mouth. - When we provided additional food they ended up not giving that to our child as well suggesting we did not know despite us telling manager and staff incharge - There is no learning provided at all. Child safety and education should be key fundamentals for a premium centre such as SunKids unfortunately the brand seems to care more about profits. It seems like they don't really care about children at all. We invested a fair bit of time and money in that center to reach a point where we could not keep our child even the next day. I would avoid this center.

Regarding the concerns you raised, we did provide details on the scratches and bump to the head during your time at the centre, and we always ensure that our staff-to-child ratio is in line with regulations. We also maintain supporting documentation to verify this. When it comes to mealtimes, we want to reassure you that children are always welcome to request additional servings. We do not impose any restrictions in this regard. At Sunkids, we implement a play-based curriculum, where children are constantly engaged in learning through play. We understand that this approach may differ from more traditional, rote-style learning, and we respect that this may not have been the right fit for your family. While it is unfortunate you have decided to leave the centre, we wish you and your child all the best for the future.

I do not recommend Sunkids to anyone. I had my son at one of their centres and while the reception staff and manager were lovely, the other staff there were so rude. They all seem like theyâd rather be elsewhere than there. We had an incident where we reported my sonâs hat missing and they were very confrontational and quick to blame us saying that we never packed the hat in the first place and no matter how many times we reassured them that we definitely did, they kept saying that we were wrong. Then when I came in on the Monday to talk to someone about it, no one even greeted or acknowledged us even after we did. The hat then turned up the next day and no one apologised about the way it was handled. They also donât take sun safety as seriously as they should. When we then decided to take my son out of the centre, they did not even take the time to acknowledge or respond to the email. I definitely DO NOT recommend.
