Story House Black Rock is our daughters second home Apologies in advance for the long review but strap in for an honest observation. After our third try at childcare, we were contemplating having our nanny full time but didn’t want a lack of social interaction at such a crucial stage in our child’s development. At Story House Black Rock, we finally found our home. Much like the rest of parent friends, we had read online reviews and visited many (12) centres in selecting the previous child care centres and found out the hard way; our standards did not align with the other glowing reviews. Even take this review with a grain of salt and visit yourself Here is why we chose to trust storey house in supporting our family amongst all the choice in the bayside area: The staff that support our child, Narelle, Sarah, Lauren, Kanchan and Margarita to name a few. Apologies if we have missed anyone; are rostered to work 5 days. Which means for us, regardless of what day it is, our child has a familiar face and they all know and understand her. The educators actually teach and educate. Not just supervise. We needed a place that is just like our home; we play, dance, get messy and have activities. They do this and MORE at Story house Black Rock. Although documentation is important; they prioritise the children and then undertake administration. The staff have wonderful care, open communication, warmth and candour. A wealth of experience, knowledge, skill and most importantly common sense (which is super uncommon these days) Shoutout to Chef and educator Margarita. She prepares very healthy, nutritious meals that the kids love to eat. Our daughter was a smaller child and since she started attending Story House Black Rock, she has been gaining weight. We often hear that children lose or have difficulty gaining weight in a centre. This observation makes us feel that our daughter feels safe, confident and she’s not refusing food. Setup and location; each room for all age groups gets sunlight. Not all centres have this; just like at home, our daughter loves to play with the dog in the sun at any given time of the day. These are some reasons that Story House Blackrock meets and exceeds our expectations Kasia & Greg
