Dear Local Residents,

I am pleased to introduce my home-based childcare service to the local community, my name is Sheryl, I operate my family daycare service in New Auckland. Children are supported in their interests and free choice is encouraged. Music, dance and craft are an important part of our curriculum.

The Montessori method is one of the most highly sought-after early education methods in the world. I aim to provide the highest quality childcare with the primary focus geared to the individual child’s developmental learning outcomes.

As a small childcare service supported by Southern Cross Family Daycare & Education Service. I am devoted to the philosophy of the FDC and Montessori, promoting the home and family environment as a great place to grow and learn for children. This is achieved by providing individual attention to each one of the children and their families, ensuring that I understand and can meet their needs and expectations.

I am a qualified childcare educator (Advanced Diploma in children services and Diploma in Montessori) with over twenty years of experience in the childcare industry. In family day care, I only work with small groups of children under school age, (ratio 1:4) making family day care unique among the childcare sector of Australia.

All occupants of my home and regular visitors must have undertaken a “Working with Children Check”. Ongoing support and professional development are undertaken by Southern Cross Family Daycare coordination unit. I comply with all the requirements of the Childcare Regulations and National Quality Framework.
