About Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: Froebel Parkville

The Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: Froebel Parkville is a not-for-profit early learning centre with an integrated funded Kindergarten Program, located in the heart of the biomedical precinct in Parkville, next to the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, just a few minutes' walk from the nearly finished Parkville Train Station. Our centre caters for 100 children aged 3 months to 5 years of age and stretches over 5 levels which have been architecturally designed.

Our educational program focusses on:

  • inquiry-based learning with our Little Scientists program. This program will ignite your child's natural curiosity and encourage them to explore the world surrounding them. Part of our STEM learning program is implemented during excursions for all our age-groups to the local surrounds and beyond – we are so lucky to have beautiful parks and markets nearby.
  • immersive language learning program with German as a second community language. Being exposed to more languages will be a boost to your child's cognitive development. A number of our educators are German speakers and speak in German to all children throughout the day. We also celebrate traditions from German-speaking countries such as our annual lantern walk, alongside Australian events and traditions from our diverse community.
  • holistic approach to sustainability that extends across environmental, community, and personal domains. We believe that nurturing environmentally conscious practices, fostering a strong sense of community, and supporting individual well-being are all interconnected and essential for long-term impact. Through daily routines, intentional teaching, and meaningful projects, children are empowered to care for their environment, contribute to their communities, and develop lifelong skills to support their own health and wellbeing.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Froebel Parkville. From nursery through to toddler and kinder classes, the centre has consistently exceeded our expectations in every way. The teachers are absolutely fantastic – nurturing, attentive, and genuinely passionate about early childhood education. They take the time to get to know each child individually, helping them feel safe, supported and confident. It’s clear they love what they do, and it shows in how happy and engaged the children are every day. The facilities are exceptional – bright, clean, and beautifully designed to spark curiosity and creativity. The outdoor spaces are thoughtfully planned, offering plenty of opportunities for active play and exploration. Everything is purposefully arranged to support learning through play in a warm, welcoming environment. A special thank you as well to the administrative team, who are always organised, friendly, and communicative. From supporting the family for onboarding to everyday logistics, they’ve made the process seamless for families and are always happy to help with any questions or concerns. We’ve seen our children grow so much in confidence, language, social skills, and independence – and we credit that to the incredible team at Froebel Parkville. It’s a truly special place, and we feel so fortunate to be part of this caring and inspiring community. Highly recommended!

Froebel Parkville has truly exceeded my expectations, providing an enriching and joyful environment for my daughter to thrive. The centre is like a home away from home for our daughter and the educators like a second family. All staff at the centre- from the educators, to Tahlia, Cara and everyone else- are exceptional in providing a nurturing and supportive environment and the attention to detail, care, and love that everyone at the centre shows on a daily basis is something so rare. We feel so very lucky to have our daughter attend such a special place. The centre itself is beautiful, and offers a diverse range of activities that blend learning with fun, whilst ensuring a stimulating and safe space for kids (and the food that Carla makes is to die for!). The educators (special mention to the Toddler Room) have assisted in allowing our daughter to grow and flourish into a curious, engaged and independent little person, who looks forward to attending each day. I am so grateful for the positive impact that Froebel has had on her growth and happiness and could not recommend it enough.
