About Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: Froebel Parkville

The Professor Lynn Corcoran Early Learning Centre: Froebel Parkville is a not-for-profit early learning centre with an integrated funded Kindergarten Program, located in the heart of the biomedical precinct in Parkville, next to the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, just a few minutes' walk from the nearly finished Parkville Train Station. Our centre caters for 100 children aged 3 months to 5 years of age and stretches over 5 levels which have been architecturally designed.

Our educational program focusses on:

  • inquiry-based learning with our Little Scientists program. This program will ignite your child's natural curiosity and encourage them to explore the world surrounding them. Part of our STEM learning program is implemented during excursions for all our age-groups to the local surrounds and beyond – we are so lucky to have beautiful parks and markets nearby.
  • immersive language learning program with German as a second community language. Being exposed to more languages will be a boost to your child's cognitive development. A number of our educators are German speakers and speak in German to all children throughout the day. We also celebrate traditions from German-speaking countries such as our annual lantern walk, alongside Australian events and traditions from our diverse community.
  • holistic approach to sustainability that extends across environmental, community, and personal domains. We believe that nurturing environmentally conscious practices, fostering a strong sense of community, and supporting individual well-being are all interconnected and essential for long-term impact. Through daily routines, intentional teaching, and meaningful projects, children are empowered to care for their environment, contribute to their communities, and develop lifelong skills to support their own health and wellbeing.

My little ones LOVE coming along to the free community group play sessions that are hosted by Froebel Parkville. Tahlia and her team are all so warm, welcoming, and encouraging to both children and parents. They always take such care in setting up interesting activities that help the kids of all different ages learn at their own pace. The space is both beautiful and functional for little and big humans together. I can only imagine that the kids who attend the centre for childcare in the rooms upstairs look forward to coming to Froebel Parkville as much as my kids too.
