Prepare Early Education Centre - Baulkham Hills

As a parent, this was our son’s first experience in childcare, and unfortunately it was very disappointing. My son is a sensitive child, and starting childcare was already a big transition for him. What upset me the most was the lack of warmth and emotional support from the educators. On multiple occasions during drop-off, even when he was crying intensely, no teacher proactively comforted or held him. As a first-time CC parent, this was heartbreaking to witness. There was also an occasion during pick-up when he was crying very hard, and again no one was comforting him. When I arrived, a staff member simply said, “I don’t know why he’s crying.” As a parent, of course I understand that children cry — especially when adjusting. What I expect from educators is not to know the exact reason every time, but to offer comfort, reassurance, and care in that moment. In addition, the overall attitude toward parents felt distant and unapproachable. There was little communication, reassurance, or empathy during what is a very vulnerable stage for both children and families. Early childhood educators play a crucial role in helping children feel safe and secure. Sadly, we did not feel that sense of care here.
