About PLAY Childcare & Kinder
PLAY Childcare & Kinder offers families a holistic and nature-based childcare experience that cherishes the precious time that is the early years.
Owned and operated by three families (with nine children between them) PLAY sits atop the Mountain High Shopping Centre and provides a natural and open-air haven in the heart of Bayswater.
At Play, we'll gently guide children to think creatively, communicate openly, solve problems collaboratively and confidently navigate social situations.
A Little About Our Centre
Spread across two levels, our dedicated Nursery and Kinder areas are connected by a central staircase, allowing these differing developmental groups to learn, play, run and explore effortlessly within their own purpose-built spaces.
Full-height glass sliding doors bathe the Kinder early learning rooms with sunlight and encourage children to move easily between indoor and outdoor learning opportunities. With views out to the Dandenong Ranges, this outdoor space provides a natural wonderland for this energetic and inquisitive age group to explore - featuring a towering fort, edible Children’s Kitchen Garden, winding creek bed and playful sand pit.
As you enter our Nursery space, you are immediately transported to a calm oasis. The early learning rooms are filled with soft lighting, textural furnishings, and carefully curated niches where Educators and children can spend quality time together in small groups. The expansive outdoor space is sheltered from the sun with tunnels, undulating hills, a water play space and a large sandpit all cleverly designed to allow our littlest ones to explore their emerging capabilities in a safe and all-weather environment.

My son Remi goes to Play and the team are so kind and attentive. As a first time mum it can be quite daunting, but the staff are so helpful and nothing is ever a hassle. The daily updates are so in depth and the food selections are amazing! I highly recommend Play. I’m excited to watch my son grow with the Play team.

I have recommended PLAY to literally every mum friend of mine. My oldest has been at PLAY for nearly a year now and I've already put my youngest on the waitlist. Five star all round. The facility is clean and designed with children in mind, daily activities are always fun and diverse, meals are very high quality and allergen-friendly and the staff are all lovely - it feels like everyone knows your child, the interpersonal relationships are so well-built here. The best part is the communication - they provide live updates through an app for you: you'll know when your child has nappy changes, when and what and how much they eat, how long they sleep for, etc. The educators also send heaps of recap photos daily so you're always assured that your child has had a great day. They also have Bush Kinder, incursions, excursions, and the overall programming is very well thought out, progressive and inclusive. They're doing all the right things. And at the end of the year, they will provide you with reports to let you know how your child has grown and a little booklet full of your bub's artworks throughout the year! Since being at PLAY, my oldest has developed so much in terms of physical and language and social skills, she's excited to go every day and loves all her educators - that's the true testimony.
