I recently visited the child medical center for my 7-week-old baby's immunization appointment, and I was extremely disappointed with the lack of adherence to basic safety measures. Shockingly, none of the staff members were wearing masks, despite the ongoing global health crisis. As a parent, I prioritize the health and safety of my child above all else, and it was concerning to see such a disregard for basic hygiene protocols in a medical setting. I expected the staff to set an example by wearing masks to protect themselves, their patients, and vulnerable infants like mine.

Hi Anastasia Council’s free community immunisation service is run by our highly trained maternal and child health team. We operate our service in local community buildings and, as we are not a medical service nor do we operate from a medical facility, there is no requirement for staff to wear masks under the Victorian Health Department regulations. Naturally we encourage staff and community members who are unwell not to attend, and we follow strict policies and procedures to keep everyone safe. Anyone who would like to wear a mask is always most welcome to. Kind regards, Freya
