We are so happy with Mother Duck Gaythorne. All the educators are so warm, and it has a real homely feel. Our little girl has thrived there over the last 12 months, and she is always happy to see her friends.

MY 9 MONTH OLD WAS LEFT TO CRY UNTIL HE VOMITED. The reason? He had 'just' had his nose wiped. (how convenient considering he wasn't sick). THE EDUCATOR ONLY REACHED OUT TO COMFORT HIM WHEN SHE SAW ME. Georgia had been sitting against the wall holding a non-crying baby, WATCHING my son crawl around crying so severely HE COULD BARELY BREATHE between sobs. The other educator (the alleged nose wiper) was in the room with the sleeping babies. My heart was crushed at the sight of my son crawling and crying like a lost animal. When I saw the vomit on his clothes at the car I was completely enraged. I kept it together and still called to get a better understanding of what happened, what their approach is to consoling children. What I saw didn't align with their values. The conversations and 'internal investigations' yielded nothing. To top it off, Sonia was dismissive of my concerns and giggled when I decided to unenrol. Their sole focus was 'what' made him cry. Not the fact that he was ignored during a time of severe distress. The unprofessionalism from senior staff and lack of compassion is disturbing and appalling. He should never have been left to cry so intensely, until he vomited. There is no excuse for such inhumane treatment to a baby. We're still suffering the consequences of this neglect, and the Mel has the audacity to ask me to pay $53 in fees?! A refund is the least you could have done for what my son went through. I urge you to consider sending your children elsewhere. Preferably a centre with cameras so staff actions can actually be reviewed.

Both of our children have been at this centre, and they have always received such wonderful care. The educators are kind, engaging and seem to know all the kids around the centre. They have amazing outdoor spaces and prioritise outdoor play. Our kids love it here and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to other families. We’ve toured a few centres and this one really feels like a home away from home.
