Macquarie Park Montessori Academy Childcare & Preschool

My son used to attend Montessori Academy at Macquarie Park, but unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Throughout our time at the center, several incidents raised serious concerns about the quality of care and safety. The most alarming of these was a medication error, which is entirely unacceptable and ultimately led to my decision to withdraw my son. Such a safety concern cannot be overlooked. Communication regarding transitions was another significant issue. While their emails emphasised a commitment to smooth transitions, this was not reflected in practice. Despite discussing in advance that it was not a suitable time for my son to transition, I discovered him at pickup in a different room with older children, visibly distressed and without my consent. I later learned this decision was made to meet staffing ratios, seemingly prioritising cost-saving measures over the well-being of the children. This directly disregarded my clear instructions and undermined my trust in the center. Attempts to address these issues with management were consistently frustrating. Despite numerous efforts to contact the area manager, I never received any follow-up. Every time I raised concerns, I was assured the area manager would reach out to me, but this never happened. The decision to withdraw my son was not made lightly, but it became clear that systemic management issues were not being addressed. Since moving my son to a different center, he is thriving, and the contrast in care and communication is remarkable. I feel a responsibility to leave this review so that other parents can carefully consider these concerns before deciding to enroll their children at this center. My hope is that Montessori Academy takes steps to improve their communication, safety protocols, and management practices. I chose to leave this review publicly because I was not given an opportunity to discuss my concerns or provide feedback directly to the area manager. It is important to me that other parents are aware of these issues and, hopefully, spared from experiencing similar challenges.

Hello everyone! I truly believe that this is an extremely wonderful childcare centre. My son spent three years here. He is a charming child. However, before the age of 4, he couldn't speak very fluently and toilet training was rather unsuccessful. He was even suspected of having autism. I was in extreme distress at that time. Nevertheless, the centre didn't turn away my child. The teachers offered my child a great deal of help and care. What particularly touched me was that the centre allowed my child to stay in the preschool room for an extra year, enabling him to have an extra year to adapt and better prepare for primary school. As a mother, I truly understand how powerless the parents of those children in need of special help are. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that everyone in this centre is ready to assist you as long as you communicate actively with them. I also earnestly ask everyone to understand that the childcare centre is not a hospital. The teachers are not doctors either. If your child needs special assistance, please be sure to communicate with the doctor promptly in the first place. The good news is that my son has smoothly integrated into primary school life. He has several good friends and has received the green card representing excellent performance at school. Everything is developing for the better. I am very grateful to the educators here for the help they have given to me and my family. I also wish every child could grow up healthily! Yue
