About KU Peninsula Preschool
UPDATE: KU Peninsula is transitioning to a Start Strong Funded Preschool from 29 January 2025. From this date, daily fees (coming soon) will be reduced and will not be means tested.
At KU Peninsula, we offer a welcoming and nurturing environment where children feel secure, empowered and energised to learn. Our open environment and access to provisions actively encourages all areas of children’s development.
We recognise that each child is unique, and grows and develops at their own pace and in their own style. Our program is structured to support children to learn within their own timeframe and within different contexts, supporting the individuality of each child.
We view play as an important tool in the development of children’s skills and learning and we provide a wide variety of experiences to support this.
Our program offers children the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of learning experiences and activities, each specifically designed to promote children’s confidence as capable, active participants in their own learning.
Our Specialisation
At KU Peninsula, our area of specialisation is our cultural and community relationships program.
We incorporate this into our program through activities such as our studies of Aboriginal culture, Japanese culture and cultural art. We are also involved with the local elderly community, as well as with the Tilligerry Men’s Shed, Tanilba Bay Fire Brigade and the Tilligerry Habitat.
We feel that the children benefit from this specialisation, because they become connected to their community and cultures. It means they feel a sense of belonging and are able to understand other people.
