KU - Newport Preschool

At KU Newport, we aim to provide the best possible foundation for the development of each child. We recognise that families are a child’s first and most influential educators and we promote strong connections between children, families and communities.

We support children’s secure attachment by developing consistent, warm and nurturing relationships that bridge the gap between home and preschool. We believe that young children learn best through play, and that parents and staff should form a partnership to promote and encourage each child’s learning, nurturing their individual strengths and interests.

We help children to develop knowledgeable and confident self-identities by teaching them how to interact with others with care, empathy and respect. We aim for children to become confident and involved learners by supporting them to develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, co-operation, confidence, creativity, enthusiasm and imagination.
