About Julia’s FDC

I have been a family day care educator with Northern Beaches Council FDC for over six years. With more than 18 years of experience in early childhood education - including long day care, preschools, and language teaching-I bring a deep understanding of child development and learning.

I love family day care because it provides a warm, nurturing space for children experiencing their first out-of-home care. Supporting families through this important transition is something I truly value. Working with small groups allows me to build strong connections, create tailored learning experiences, and nurture each children’s unique strengths. I also enjoy incorporating nature into our days, helping children develop a love and respect for the environment.

I hold a Master of Teaching (Birth to Five) from Macquarie University and am a mother of three. This combination of professional knowledge and lived experience gives me a deep empathy for families and the challenges they face. I also speak Portuguese and Spanish, which I use daily in my multicultural classroom.

From day one, Julia made us feel at ease with her warmth and empathy. She understood how emotional it was to leave our son in someone else’s care for the first time and supported us through that transition with genuine kindness and professionalism. As we prepare to move away from Sydney, we know we’ll truly miss her. Julia has been a caring and reliable presence in our son’s life, and we’re deeply grateful for everything she has done for our family.
