John Street Community Early Childhood Co-operative

The absolute best childcare centre. Being a community centre, they're focused on the well-being and growth of children, rather than profits. Educators are great, and there's little turnover. They support the children's strengths and interests (for example, in our case, championing them speaking French). They were also very supportive of our way of approaching solids and toilet training. The other families attending the centre are lovely, and so is the new director. Our girls have learned so much at John Street and feel loved and valued there.

Very community focused childcare coop! Functioning as a not for profit - children are treated more than just merely numbers. Families and parents are genuinely part of a community, there is opportunity for families to be involved and have a genuine say for how things are run at the centre versus corporate franchise systems. Strong focus on sustainability - nappy recycing system,avoidance of food waste,etc
