First, let me preface this one star review - of everyone reviewing this childcare center, I feel pretty well qualified to say that my review is fair and unbiased, despite the 1 star, as my eldest son was the first child enrolled at the center almost ~7-8 years ago and I have had children continuously in the center for that entire period: first, my eldest, and now my youngest who is currently in their preschool classroom. This is not a knee-jerk reaction review. This is the last straw after years of patience when I should have spoken up sooner. 8 years ago, the center was brand new and while it had some hiccups, I had no problems with the level of care and compassion that the educators displayed. Everyone was learning together, and they genuinely tried. Then the director and a significant portion of the staff resigned around 5-6 years ago due to terrible corporate management. This will become a recurring thing. While this mass resignation was unfortunate, and led to a period of confusion and less than adequate care in the interim (~2 years), eventually a new permanent director was recruited and she managed to stabilise things. After a period of chaos and a revolving door of staff, new faces every day in classrooms, around 3 years ago the quality of care improved again. ~6 months ago, that director and her entire staff resigned abruptly overnight. When I say entire, I mean *entire* staff - I think there were 2 people left after the mass resignation, and of those remaining 2, 1 resigned within 2 months. Even the chef left. I was told again and again that it was poor work conditions, poor pay, and a poor corporate environment that caused them to resign. The children suffered for it. The new staff that have been brought on to fill those vacancies are probably trying their best, but they are under-resourced and are often acting up in positions they are not qualified for. I have witnessed firsthand educators pushing children, screaming at them, talking down to toddlers who don't understand what they are doing is wrong because they are only 3-5 years old. My youngest son has lost his two front teeth at this daycare in two separate occasions, and no one seems to know how it happened - no one was watching him. There were no videos of the incidents. The cameras never work. There is no accountability. I have picked him up with a mouthful of blood and have been met with awkward, uncomfortable shrugs. In the past, this centre deserved a solid 3-4 stars, but recently it would be unconscionable to give them anything higher than 1 star.
