Harkaway Primary School

Harkaway OSHC programme operates within the Harkaway Primary School learning community. Harkaway is a unique community providing a caring, excepting, inclusive and optimistic environment.
We believe by valuing each child’s identity, culture, individual strengths and interests. I will build children’s confidence, wellbeing and enthusiasm to engage in learning. We believe in the importance of planning and reviewing our practice to extend and enhance every child’s capabilities.
Our programmes are inclusive and reflect the beliefs and practices of the community.

We aim to provide physically safe, nurturing and emotionally secure environment that allows children to learn, explore, socialise, develop and expand their interests through positive and age appropriate experiences. We believe that children are active learners from birth and through rich, engaging environments and meaningful interactions; we can build a foundation for successful lifelong learning.
We encourage supportive, confidence-building atmosphere that promotes physical, emotional, intellectual, creative and social growth.
We believe that each child has a right to be an active member of the community in which they live, to express their opinion and have views considered in any decision that may affect them.
