This was our first experience putting our child in daycare so at the time I put it down to being an overly anxious new parent and didn't want to rock the boat - buuut I've changed my mind. On my child's FIRST day, we picked them up and they had a busted lip and the skin between the top gum and upper lip was torn. It was clearly a bad incident though educators couldn't/wouldn't tell me how it happened. I wasn't notified during the day so was shocked to see them like that when I arrived for pick up. They proceeded to tell me my 1 year old "didn't even cry, but approached an educator and placed their hand on her leg to let her know they'd been hurt" no way buddy (eyes were red and swollen from all the crying I have no doubt there was). There was no accountability, no explanation and no genuine apology - they couldn't even confirm who was actually watching my kid at the time. I understand that toddlers can be clumsy and if someone had simply called me during the day to say "hey your child's had an accident, they're fine though etc." (like centers are supposed to do) I wouldn't have even thought about it but they didn't and the attempted explanation was weak at best. For any first time mums out there, don't doubt your gut when it comes to advocating and pushing for your kids. There are some really great early education centers out there - but I'd skip this one if you can.

This centre has some lovely passionate educators. My daughter is in the infant's room and the planning that goes into providing age appropriate activities for these little ones will make any parent get a sense of relief that their kids have something new to explore everyday. It's good to see the children follow the routine. We as a family have liked this centre and would recommend others too.
