Unfortunately, our experience during a recent visit to this preschool was disappointing, and I feel it is important to share our observations with other families considering enrolment.

Having personally visited approximately nine preschools while searching for the right environment for my child, I can honestly say this was, by a considerable margin, the worst experience of them all. The difference in the standard of the environment, the atmosphere and the overall impression was striking. Compared with the other preschools I visited, this one felt significantly below the standard I had come to expect, both in its presentation and in the level of engagement I observed.

Upon arrival, the educator who answered the door greeted us with “Yes?” without a hello or any welcoming gesture. When we explained that we were there to meet the director and view the preschool, she told us to wait and closed the door in our faces. This initial interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, and unfortunately, our observations over the following 40 minutes did little to improve our impression.

Throughout our visit, the same educator appeared disengaged and showed very little warmth or positive interaction towards the children. The overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable and lacked the welcoming, nurturing environment I would expect from an early childhood education setting.

I was also concerned by what I observed in the classroom. While a few activities were available and some children were participating, many others appeared disengaged, with some lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling or wandering around the room without any apparent purpose. A few children were tracing their fingers along the walls as they walked around. Overall, the room felt lacking in stimulation, engagement and meaningful activities for the children.

The outdoor playground was another disappointment. Although the space itself was quite large, the equipment appeared outdated and there seemed to be very limited play equipment available. Compared with the other preschools I had viewed, the overall environment felt considerably less inviting, stimulating and well maintained.

To be fair, the director was lovely, professional and welcoming when we met her. However, I felt there was limited information provided about the programme and what the preschool offers, which made it difficult to gain a clear understanding of the educational environment and daily activities.

During our visit, one child became very distressed for an extended period. I do not wish to comment on the child personally, as they deserved privacy, patience and appropriate support. My concern was solely about how the situation appeared to be managed and whether the educators had effective strategies to support a distressed child while maintaining a calm environment for the other children.

Unfortunately, the situation became so uncomfortable that we left before receiving further information about the preschool. It also left us questioning what the usual environment is like for the children and what support is available when situations like this arise.

Overall, the experience fell well below our expectations. Having visited approximately nine preschools, I found this one to be by far the most disappointing, and the contrast with the other centres was substantial. When choosing a preschool, I believe families should be able to expect a welcoming atmosphere, engaged educators, meaningful activities and an environment that encourages children to learn, explore and develop.

Based on what we personally observed during our visit, I would not feel comfortable enrolling my child here, and I would unfortunately not recommend it to other families based on this experience.

It is disappointing, as the director herself was welcoming, but the overall atmosphere, interactions and environment we observed did not give us the confidence we needed when choosing a preschool for our child.

This review is genuine. We intended to enrol our child, and Manal was present during our visit.
