About Goodstart Early Learning Quakers Hill

Goodstart Early Learning - Quakers Hill acknowledges the Darug people as the traditional custodians of the land that our centre resides on. We are a purpose built childcare centre with three welcoming learning environments; Nursery, Toddlers and Preschool. We are located in a residential area close to schools, shops, quick access to main roads and bus stops.

We develop engaging curriculum experiences for our children, taking our lead from the children’s interests, individual needs and abilities, and care routines. We draw on current research and Early Childhood theories to create layers of knowledge for our educators in regards to child development. This centre has taken particular interest in the ‘Resources for Infant Educarers Approach’, ‘Key Educator Approach’ and ‘Reggio Emilia’ and find inspiration from Indigenous Australia and theorists like Piaget and Vygotsky.

School readiness programs are evident throughout all of our rooms with our main focuses being on social development, self-regulation, responsibility, respect and confidence. We have three Early Childhood Teachers and our Educational Leader (in conjunction with local Primary School Teachers) that promote the programs and ensure that all Educators are drawing on current research to give children the best start to their education.

When your child starts with us, they are connected with a Key Educator. This Educator is responsible for your child’s documentation and learning programs, as well as ensuring that they eat well, sleep soundly and develop positive relationships within the environment.

Our Storypark platform, as well as family nights and newsletters, enables us to stay in close contact with parents and families, ensuring open and clear communication. This also means we can tailor each program to the child’s individual needs, interests and strengths, as well as the strong level of cultural diversity in our centre.

I can’t rave enough about Goodstart Quakers Hill. I have already referred family and friends to them, and my daughter has only been there for the last 4 months. In this short period of time Goodstart feels like a home away from home for my daughter (now 16 months). It was a daunting task when we first set out looking for an early education centre for our daughter. As first time parents, the thought of leaving our child with someone else was….well it was hard to come to terms with. Also not knowing a lot about childcare centres and having heard a few not so positive stories about other centres had given us a sense of nervousness. We visited a few centres near home, and the day we visited Goodstart at Quakers Hill, we knew we had found a service we would be comfortable leaving our daughter at. Fiona, the Director, took the time and explained things to us. All our questions were answered and we also had the opportunity to contact her later if anything came to mind. We met some of the educators and had an opportunity to observe in the nursery. I found Goodstart Quakers Hill extremely helpful in the lead up to our enrolment there. The orientation was an invaluable experience for both my daughter and I. I am very impressed with how clean the facility is and with how well kept the equipment and the ever evolving resources are. When you walk into the centre it is self-evident that the staff constantly put in a lot of effort into creating a suitable environment for the children to grow and develop in. The outdoor play area is large enough to easily accommodate all the kids engaged in various kinds of play. I can’t talk about Goodstart Quakers Hill without mentioning the food. Every day there are well balanced, freshly prepared meals that smell so inviting when you walk in. All dietary requirements are met without any drama. My daughter shows every sign that she enjoys her meals (maybe a bit too much sometimes) at the centre. Food is such an important thing for growing kids and as parents we know that for many and varied reasons sometimes our little ones decide they won’t eat. It touches my heart each time to learn that the educators make every effort to ensure that my daughter has something in her tummy when she is having her special ‘I don’t eat food’ days. The educators seem to be every tuned into the parents as well. One day I was upset about how my daughter hadn’t had anything to eat or drink at home. Within a couple of hours of leaving her at the centre, I had received photos of my little one relaxed and enjoying her meal. Initially all of us thought that it would take my daughter 3 to 6 months to settle into the centre and to form significant relationships. However, the efforts made by the educators paid off and by the end of the first 2 months she had pretty much settled in. A simple telling sign is that I am not allowed to put on her shoes. She only lets her educators do that. If I have any concerns I have been able to freely raise it with the staff. These concerns have been promptly addressed. The communication pathways are very clear at the centre and there is someone always available for you to talk to. I could talk more about Goodstart but I think you would have the idea by now that I am very happy with them. The two key things that made the difference for us was the first overall impression of the facilities and the staff, and that we felt comfortable enough with the educators to leave our baby with them. I highly recommended Goodstart Quakers Hill to anyone looking for a good quality and caring childcare/early education centre for their children.

Well, where do I start with this place. Finding a centre to send our first child took some time. It is all about visiting each place and getting a vibe you are comfortable with. I was instantly struck by the friendliness, atmosphere and cleanliness of this place. Fiona and the girls were amazing in providing us the information we needed. Several months on, my wife and I couldn't be happier with our choice. The carers are proficient, friendly and are all about thinking outside the square when it comes to bringing out the best in their kids. They engage actively with the parents and are always open to ideas. They take time to understand the kids and report back. They have great ethics and promote strong values. We will definitely be sending our second child there. Thank you girls for all your hard work!
