Goodstart Mount Helen cares for both my son and daughter every week. My wife and I chose the centre because we believed at the time the staff would provide the best environment for our children to thrive. My daughter has now been attending the centre for over a year now and I have not had a single bad experience with either child. In fact we are so glad that we sent our daughter to Goodstart Mount Helen that we made sure our son started earlier in life. The facilities are fantastic but what makes Goodstart Mount Helen special is the team. There is a fantastic group of full time and casual staff all of which as far as I am concerned are all providing my children with an amazing environment to learn and play. Unfortunately, we have friends who have had bad experiences at other daycare centres in the Ballarat Region and have moved them around. If we moved away from Mount Helen we would keep our children at Goodstart Mount Helen because they have made good friends and we know they are treasured by the friendly staff. To provide a transparent review, I would like to discuss other reviewers comments regarding sickness. For the record I have a severe case of sleep apnea which means I need a cpap machine. When I get sick from the kids, I might be sick for 3 weeks while my wife recovers after a week. For this reason I feel my comments about this topic are pretty relevant. The reality is, every daycare centre struggles with children's illnesses particular during the winter months. Another point is that whenever young children are in a group the reality is they will get sick from time to time. At the beginning this can be frequent but as they build up immunity this decreases. As much as I can totally agree that it can get very challenging and frustrating, the idea that we can send our children to a daycare centre and never get sick is an impossibility. I think it is unfair to single out a particular centre when the problem is universal. Thank you to the team at Goodstart Mount Helen for providing the best care possible for my children.
