Goodstart Early Learning Barton

Goodstart Early Learning Barton provides childcare and early learning in the heart of Canberra's Parliamentary Triangle, on Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. Conveniently located close to Government offices and within a five-minute drive of Parliament House and the Russell offices, our centre welcomes families from nearby suburbs as well as those working in the surrounding area.

Our warm, multicultural team creates a welcoming environment where children feel safe, secure and comfortable. Four educators have been with Goodstart for between 10 and 20 years, while our Centre Director has 20 years of service, providing children and families with familiar and consistent relationships.

Children have access to two separate outdoor learning environments, with one designed for children under two and another for children aged two to five. Inside, our welcoming social space gives children opportunities to connect with friends over meals or enjoy a quieter area away from the busy room while exploring experiences at their own pace.

Our Centre Cook provides nutritious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, with meals adjusted for allergies and dietary requirements where needed. Children aged two to five also enjoy Happy Feet Fitness sessions twice each week.

Our educators speak a range of languages, including Cantonese, Hindi, Portuguese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Urdu, Nepali, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Bhutanese (Dzongkha), Korean, Sinhalese and Tamil, supporting our diverse community.

Our child-led, play-based approach follows children's interests and supports their individual development, confidence and independence. Two Preschool teachers support children's learning and development as they prepare for their transition to school.
