Flutterbies Family Day Care

My name is Kirsten and I am the owner and lead educator at Flutterbies FDC. I am a registered educator with Inspired Family Day Care service which is founded on the belief that all children deserve a childhood filled with wonder and adventure.  Our home in Birkdale is the perfect environment for FDC with lots of areas for the children to explore.

I have worked as an early childhood professional for 28 years and am a university qualified early childhood teacher.  In my career I have been lucky enough to work in a wide variety of children’s services.  I started Family Day care in 2012 and quickly fell in love with the unique and very special care environment that it can offer children and families.

Flutterbies Early Years program is for children aged 2 - 5 years.  The sessions run from 8:30am – 4:30pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.  Children can attend at any time within the session they are booked in for.  We do ask that consideration is given to drop off and pick up times around school drop off and pick up and excursions.    

The program is catered to meet the needs and interests of the children attending each day.  The environment and materials  are carefully selected and arranged to encourage engagement and learning.   Importance is placed on the children being able to access materials and resources that they may like to engage with throughout their play.  

Regular outings to the local community provide children opportunities to connect with the natural environment and community.  We explore beach, bushland and gardens together where children are free to explore, imagine, and engage with their local environments.
