I had an unpleasant experience speaking with the receptionist on 18.7. 25 who seemed unwilling to cooperate or even consider the idea of hosting a fundraiser to support the community. It was disappointing, especially given the intention behind the outreach. I truly hope this isn’t reflective of the organisation’s values, as community support and collaboration are so important.

I was once the biggest advocate for Djinda Dreaming Bedfordale and would have given it a higher star rating. It wasn’t without its imperfections, but the heart of the centre was always the educators — warm, dedicated people who clearly loved the children in their care. The small group sizes, the connection to nature, and the presence of animals like chickens, a cat, fish, and even the occasional bunny or lamb made it a truly special place for our kids. However, over the years, things began to change. As the ownership expanded to open more centres across Perth, the attention and care for the Bedfordale location appeared to decline. Leadership was inconsistent — we saw six or seven Directors come and go in just over three years, which seemed largely due to a lack of support from upper management. Despite this, the educators remained committed and gave everything to the children. In February 2025, we were informed — via a brief notification in the app and a short 3 minute follow-up call — that the Bedfordale centre would be closing for renovations, and families were to move to the Armadale branch with just 13 days’ notice. We were assured that all staff would move with us and that the transition would be smooth. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. On arrival at Armadale, there was no clear direction for families, no one to greet us, and an overwhelming sense of confusion among staff. Soon after, we learned that the much-trusted Director from Bedfordale had been moved to a different centre, as had the Associate Director — something we had not been informed about. What followed was a period of deep disappointment. Communication was minimal, and when I asked about the status of renovations and approvals, I was told that details couldn’t be shared. It was particularly disheartening to learn that, months into what was initially described as a temporary relocation, proper approvals for the renovation were still pending. This whole experience has been incredibly upsetting for our family. The centre we once loved and trusted felt suddenly abandoned, and the lack of transparency left us feeling let down. I share this with the hope that future families are given the communication, respect, and continuity of care that all children and parents deserve.
