About CSIROcare Clayton

Our programs for children evolve from a play based learning approach. Through play, children can learn to make sense of the world around them. Through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments. Play provides a strong foundation for intellectual growth, creativity, problem-solving and basic academic knowledge. We are committed to implementing inclusive programs that meet the needs and abilities of all children and are reflective of their interests. Weekly music & sport programs are included as a further extension to the program. Other special events are also arranged throughout the year.

We strive to build and maintain positive relationships with parents and families and work to enable families to feel a sense of community and belonging. Families are welcome to come in at any time and participate in the program. We value traditional parent involvement activities such as working bees and social events which are ways of building and extending partnerships. In addition, we have many different kinds of social events at different times such as morning/afternoon teas, a Christmas party, celebrations of cultural and religious events, excursions and incursions.

Having authentic partnerships with families is a crucial part of what we do every day.

Our team of more than 20 staff are dedicated to providing high quality care to the children and families within our centre. We have a combination of permanent educators allocated to each room, room support educators and casual relief educators. We also have a qualified cook who prepares all meals on site.

Our centre is managed by a volunteer committee of management which consists of interested parent representatives.

CSIRO is a well established NFP childcare centre with some of the best staff retention I've ever seen! I moved my two sons from a for-profit shiny new centre to CSIRO two months ago. Since we moved, my kids don't come home with unexplained injuries, they don't cry at drop off, they are happy and look forward to attending. I don't need to call in to check on them, and I never have to worry. I honestly couldn't be happier with the level of care at CSIRO - my kids are happy, safe, and developing new skills every week. Thank you to all the staff for their unwavering and nurturing support. Highly recommend!
