A handful of the staff here are beyond amazing at their jobs and will go above and beyond for the children in their care. However the current centre manager and her lack of empathy, compassion and total disregard towards children needing additional help is disgusting. From not just myself but many parents requesting a support worker to her stating that her normal staff don’t show up, so it’s just not possible to have a support worker to show up as well. From room changes DAILY and no consistency whatsoever, and it wasn’t always like this - only in the last few months has the centre really gone down hill. It would take me at least 15-20 minutes most days at pickup to locate what room my child was actually in. He was never in his assigned room. Staff and parents have made many complaints about the centre manager and her behaviour only for nothing to be done, so I’m posting here in hopes that this very poorly and very public review changes something. My son was beyond terrified of attending this daycare in the end, he never had the same people, never in the same room and when I couldn’t get him out of the car because he had himself so worked up, when I called the centre manager I was told “you just need to get over it and bring him in here” all I asked was for some additional support to help coax him out of the car. I pulled him out the next day as he had been left in an unchanged, dirty nappy for 5 hours. Disgusted isn’t even the correct word, my son is traumatised, wakes up in the middle of the night screaming “don’t take me to daycare” he is a child he shouldn’t be worried about somewhere that is supposed to be safe and fun. However again, a handful of the staff I honestly can’t fault however the centre manager needs to go, she’s running that centre into the ground. From screaming at her staff in the hallway, to being angry that staff want to be involved in meetings with children’s speech therapists/other services, she has no care for the children whatsoever.
