About Coolibah Kids

PHILSOPHY
Our philosophy is to provide a safe, healthy environment where children can interact with people and materials. We focus on progressive learning through play and through the inclusion of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) within our curriculum plan and by ensuring we meet the 7 quality areas of the National Quality Framework (NQF).
We offer a safe place where children can observe, be active, express creativity, explore their environment, make choices, challenge their abilities, channel frustrations, practice independence, experiment and solve problems in order to gain understanding and grasp new concepts.
We acknowledge that play-based learning is the best vehicle for young children’s learning providing the most appropriate stimulus for brain development. Children naturally learn communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development as they belong, be and become continuous learners throughout life.
We value the NQF and ensure our policies and practices revolve around its 7 Quality Areas.
Quality area 1: Educational Program and Practice
Quality Area 2: Children’s Health and Safety
Quality Area 3: Physical Environment
Quality Area 4: Staffing Arrangements
Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children
Quality Area 6: Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities
Quality Area 7: Leadership and Service Management
We acknowledge the importance of working in partnerships with children, parents, guardians and professional community services to strive to fulfill our aims and objectives. We are culturally and individually inclusive therefore we strive to implement appropriate practices free from discrimination. We believe all relationships should be built on respect. Empathy, resilience and perseverance are skills that we are striving to demonstrate and implement daily as we promote and support meaningful relationships.
We believe that even in a remote town that we can provide the best quality educational service and care possible by accessing training through a range of service providers regularly. This can be achieved by webinars, online study or flexible learning. Staff training will be individualized to ensure that staff have a large range of skills and knowledge to cater for all the needs of Coolibah Kids and the community. The training allows staff to develop and demonstrate leadership and service management skills that assist Coolibah Kids to grow as an organization which the community can be proud of.
