Colonial Preschool Kindergarten and Childcare Centre - Roselands

I am sharing this review based on my personal experience as a parent, because I believe other families deserve to know what my experience was like.<br><br>My son attended this daycare for approximately four years. During that time, I had ongoing concerns about communication, organisation, payment administration, and, most importantly, the information provided to me about incidents involving my child.<br><br>My son is an atypical child who, when he was younger, had significant difficulty communicating and expressing what he was experiencing. There were several occasions when I found him with marks that concerned me, saw him crying alone in a room, or picked him up with a fever or illness without having been informed beforehand. These experiences raised serious concerns for me about the level of supervision and communication.<br><br>At the time, my son was not able to explain what was happening to him. Now that he is older and communicates much more clearly, he has told me about experiences from that period, including being called names by teachers, being hit by other children without feeling adequately protected, and allegations that some teachers physically hurt him.<br><br>I cannot independently verify everything my son now remembers or describes, and I think it is important to make that distinction. However, I take what he tells me seriously, particularly because I personally observed significant changes in his behaviour during the years he attended the daycare.<br><br>Even today, years later, he becomes distressed and cries when we pass the building. That has been very difficult for me as a parent.<br><br>I regret that I did not recognise sooner how much he was struggling, and I carry a lot of guilt about having had to leave him there while I worked.<br><br>My advice to other parents is to remain closely involved in your child's care. Ask about their day, pay attention to changes in their behaviour, encourage them to tell you about anything that happens, and make sure they know they will always be believed, heard, and supported when they come to you with a concern.<br><br>I am sharing my experience so that other parents can make their own informed decisions and, above all, remain attentive to their children's wellbeing.
