About Children's Garden Kindercare

OUR VISION

Childrens Garden Kindercare is committed to providing an alternative form of child care where the early years of childhood are protected and nurtured, into which children are welcomed with love and surrounded by warmth, wonder and wisdom. Our care will give the children the best start to develop a secure sense of personal wellbeing, a love for learning, individual confidence and empathy for others.

Kindergarten Program - two rooms with 20 places for 3-5 year olds - Monday to Friday: 8am 5.30pm

Childcare: Ring o Rosie and Spring Star Rooms, two rooms with 20places for under 3 year olds: Monday Friday: 7.30am 6.30pm

Working towards a better planet, we use biodegradable bamboo nappies and wipes, which take only 2 years as opposed to 500 years of normal nappies to decompose. Bamboo fabric can be 100% biodegraded in soil by microorganisms and sunlight. The decomposition process does not cause any pollution to the environment.

All our meals are provided by the centre and are organic, biodynamic and vegetarian. We have gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan options.

The programs are a rich combination of indoor and outdoor domestic/farm-like activities and free play woven together with intentional teaching or planned activities. In Ring-o-Rosie the program centres around a strong rhythm that includes indoor and outdoor play, meal times, singing, story time, simple art and crafts and sleep. We keep it calm and simple for our littlest ones.

In Spring Star children are learning quickly to run and climb and are given the opportunity to exercise their developing gross motor skills on excursions and through a greater variety of activities that may include baking, painting, gardening, crafts and longer stories and singing circle times.

In our Peppercorn and Fig Tree Kindergartens the program includes excursions further from the centre, more complicated verses, finger plays, stories, cooking, paper art, beeswax and clay work and longer time in free-play. Children acquire the basic foundations for all the social sciences, language, creative thinking, mathematics, music, arts, problem-solving and negotiation etc. in a play-based curriculum with educators dedicated to ongoing learning.

Wait-list scam, be aware! Paid $50 to join the wait-list and was told by joining the Saturday playgroup (which costs $125 for 5 x 2h session) will be able to jump the queue. By the end was told there was no spot available and need to join another playgroup and other paid events to jump the queue. No thanks, and guess what, 3.5 years later still no spot! During the playgroup, parents need to bring their own fruits and accompany the child the entire time and help to clean up and do dishes. The kitchen is also very dirty and messy, very curious how it can pass the safety checks. Apparently there is no dedicated chef like the other centers, while the daily cost is much higher. Good for the profits, not good for the families. P.S. I deliberately extended my maternity leave counting on the “promised spot” after playgroup, however was disappointed and had to urgently find another centre for care as needed to return to work. But I never pulled out of the wait list as was really curious to see how long the wait will be. Turns out to be 3.5 years and still nothing 🤪

Hello Charlene, Thank you for your feedback. The last correspondence I had with you you told me it was nice to hear from me and thanks for the updates. That you were actually back to work full time and your child had already started childcare at another centre and he was really loving it! That you wouldn't be able to join the playgroup anymore. And you wished me a lovely break! So I am very confused? Is there something else you wished to discuss, because your statements are unwarranted, untrue and deliberately damaging. This is most disappointing to read, the slandering of a family business. When families are in the playgroup, they have preference after siblings into the childcare. You were the one who pulled out of the waitlist. The rooms are in a heritage building, cleaned professionally each day, as well as through the day by staff. It is not a modern, minimalist style, it is homely and beautiful. Children thrive in real life environments. We have emailed the waitlist people many times, and recently asked for everyone to update on their status, as I have had vacancies in your age group. I did not hear from you? We have a dedicated cook every day, who has been working at the centre for ten years, so your allegation is unfounded and untrue. Our staff ratio is well above any other centre around, 8 staff in both under 3 yr rooms, 4-5 staff in kindergarten rooms with 20 children. You will not find better. This is a family owned business, that has been built from scratch by very a very dedicated family board and team of staff. Profit has never been the driving factor, hence we do not charge higher than all surrounding centres, even though we supply all organic food, many handmade playthings, organise festivals etc. If you would like to discuss anything further please email me at info@childrensgarden.com.au. Families who show a keen interest, stay in contact and whose values and principles at home align with the centre, generally always get a place.
