Our experience with Killarney Heights Busy Bees was very disappointing. My child attended for only four weeks before we withdrew her because she felt unsafe and unhappy there. From day one, she came home sad, saying some older boys were mean and pushed her. (Another thing to note is that she was 3y2m when she started but was placed with 4–5-year-olds.) I called the centre the next day after it happened again, and things improved for two weeks. Then, she came home extremely upset, refused to eat anything, and wouldn’t talk. Eventually, she told us the same boys had come up to her outside, pushed her again, and said, “You’re not my friend.” We called the director and requested to review camera footage. The director said there are cameras outside and that she would look into the situation. However, despite confirming she would call back the next day, we never heard from her—or anyone from the centre—again. It has now been three weeks, and the lack of communication feels cold and unprofessional. Given our experience, I cannot recommend this centre to families who want a secure and supportive environment for their child and trust that educators will keep them safe.

I’m so impressed with Busy Bees, where our granddaughters are thriving. The centre, run by Ash Thomas, is so well organised and beautifully presented. At their last fete, I had the opportunity of speaking with Ash. She is enthusiastic and seems so committed to the little ones in her care. When we collect our granddaughters, we are always impressed by the positive atmosphere. In the early days, when the girls were reluctant to leave their mum, their teacher could not have been more gentle and supportive. Now they can’t wait to get there. I would highly recommend this centre.

My 2 daughters have attended Busy Bees for the past 2 years and we have always been extremely impressed with the care and professionalism of the team. It’s clear that the leaders and directors have a priority for fun, creative activities and my girls always come home with good stories to tell :) The food must be great too, because my kids certainly eat meals at busy bees that they would never touch at home 😅
