About Bruce Early Childhood Centre

Bruce Early Childhood Centre is a 45-place centre in a convenient and safe location on the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) campus in Bruce, ACT. Our location offers easy access for families, being close to the Australian Institute of Sport, North Canberra Hospital and Belconnen.

With healthy meals, a focus on sustainability and a curriculum based on the Early Years Learning Framework, our centre promotes children’s growth and well-being with a philosophy based on respect, education, play, equity, community and culture.

We provide much more than childcare. Our mission is to create an inclusive, secure and respectful childhood environment that empowers children to explore their passions, form nurturing, trustworthy relationships, and reach their fullest potential through a child-led educational approach.

In addition to our academic curriculum, we nurture children’s social and emotional growth, creativity and physical well-being, to help them become confident, well-rounded individuals.

We care about the whole family, not just the children who attend our services. We actively involve parents in their child's learning journey and encourage open communication and collaboration between Educators and families, to create a supportive network that fosters a strong bond between home and the centre.

As part of Capital Region Community Services, a not-for-profit community service organisation that has been in the Belconnen region for nearly 50 years, we know the power of community and pride ourselves on making a difference. We prioritise the care of children above all else, and this is reflected in our policies, practices and prices.

We offer flexible part-time and full-time programs to suit your schedule.

Bruce Early Childhood Centre is currently Exceeding National Quality Standards.

We chose to send our child to this daycare as it rated highly against others in the area, and we were not dissapointed. It may not be the newest or the shiniest, but it has the best staff and all the kids need and desire The staff are our favourite part of this daycare, and I know our child feels the same

As a parent I would not be sending my child/children anywhere else. Great staff who are friendly and helpful to no end. Director and assistant director are incredible and knowledgeable in all areas and can assist with any questions or queries.
