Born 2 Shine Family Day Care is committed to providing a high-quality education and care services for children through play-based exploration that meets the needs of the community, families and children in a home-based environment.

• children learn and grow through play
• children learn through their interactions, relationships and experiences with others and the environment.
• children have a right to feel safe, secure, supported and to be acknowledged for their individuality and agency.
• children have a right of choice, freedom of belief and are capable and confident learners.
• it is essential to support and nurture the whole child focusing on their identity, connection with community, wellbeing, confidence as learners and effectiveness as communicators.
• a risk-based approach will effectively manage the health, safety and the wellbeing of children in our care. We understand our roles and responsibilities towards protecting all children from harm.
• providing a safe, secure, supportive, and a thoughtfully set out environment allows children to extend their own learning, supports their agency and takes their play in the direction of their choice which can only lead to better outcomes
• the program needs to promote environmental awareness to actively engage children and support children to be environmentally aware and responsible and to recognise that they are able to contribute to a sustainable future.
• parent partnerships and reciprocal relationships with families are fundamental for the developing child and delivering the best educational outcomes
• inclusion of all children and families promotes opportunities for children to be aware and learn about the world in which they live bringing a richness of diversity and difference within the service
