About Avenues Early Learning Centre - Camp Hill

Thank you for visiting our Care for Kids page!

At Avenues Camp Hill, we take great pride in fostering a love for sustainability in children of all ages. Our children are actively involved in caring for our herb and vegetable gardens, feeding our worms, reusing recycled materials, and learning to be water-wise—all as part of their everyday learning.

Our Artist in Residence shares a strong passion for sustainability, especially through the creative use of recycled materials. This passion shines throughout our centre, especially in our dedicated Art Room, where children explore new techniques and express themselves through amazing artworks.

We are also deeply committed to honouring the Traditional Owners of the Land. Each morning, the children participate in a special Acknowledgement to Country that they helped create—an important part of our daily routine and a meaningful step in supporting reconciliation for future generations.

At Avenues Camp Hill, we believe that every child deserves a safe, supportive, fun, and caring environment to learn and grow. Our programs are built around the children's interests, with experiences carefully planned to support their development in engaging and meaningful ways.

We are proud to have many long-term educators at our centre, providing consistency, trust, and strong relationships that help children feel secure and connected every day.

Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about us. We hope to welcome you to our community soon!

We recently moved to Brisbane, and it was a big transition for our 2-year-old to start at a new daycare after being at the same one since he was 6 months old. But Avenues Camp Hill has been absolutely amazing — he’s been there for the past 6 months and is thriving! He’s made so many friends, and even the teachers have become people he talks about at home like friends. He often shares what he’s learned and experienced during the day, and if someone does something wrong, he’ll say, “Mr. Keiran taught us not to do that!” — it’s so sweet and shows how much he’s absorbing. As a multicultural South African-French family, I really appreciate the diversity at the centre. There are French-speaking teachers and even male educators, which has been such a positive influence for our son. He loves the outdoor play, water activities, and tree planting — and touch wood, we haven’t had a single sick day since he started! That’s a huge change from his previous daycare, where he was constantly unwell from being stuck indoors. The teachers are so engaged — they play with the kids, challenge them, and really stimulate their minds. As a parent, it’s wonderful to see real growth and learning happening. He even tells me what he ate each day and loves the food, which is such a relief for a busy parent — I don’t feel guilty if dinner is just toasties, knowing he had a solid meal during the day. The administration is also fantastic. Communication is consistent, and there are always fun parent activities and events — but without pressure or guilt if you can’t attend. It’s structured yet relaxed, which I really appreciate. I honestly can’t praise this centre enough. My son has made beautiful friendships, and I’ve even connected with some lovely like-minded mums. They do little things like giving the kids a “role model” medal for the day, which boosts their confidence and encourages positive behaviour. It’s such a nurturing, empowering environment — we’re so grateful to be part of it.
