🚨 **ZERO star if google would allow — EXTREME NEGLIGENCE** 🚨 Aurora Childcare Rowville should not be entrusted with any child’s safety, especially if your child has allergies or medical needs. My son has life-threatening anaphylaxis to gluten. Before he started at this centre, Aurora was provided with his anaphylaxis management plan, clear medical documentation, and emergency medications including his EpiPen. Staff were fully aware that a single mistake could **kill my child**. Despite this, Aurora staff caused my child to suffer ANAPHYLAXIS — TWICE — within one month. Let that sink in. First incident (30 September): Aurora staff gave my son cake containing gluten. Their excuse? A staff member “misread the label.” As a result, my child went into a severe anaphylactic reaction, required an EpiPen and was transported to Monash Children’s Hospital. This was a completely preventable, life-threatening event. Any competent childcare centre would treat this as an absolute never-again event. Aurora did not. Less than four weeks later, they did it AGAIN. Second incident: My son was given the wrong meal yet again. This time, staff claimed they “misread his name” and gave him another child’s food. We were told that under their “new process,” two staff members checked the meal — and somehow both failed. Please note: it would have been catastrophic for another child too whose meal was swapped. Two staff. Two checks. Same catastrophic mistake. One child. This is not a mistake. This is not bad luck. This is gross negligence and a total breakdown of duty of care. Aurora Childcare is now under investigation by the Department of Education. The centre has already received breach notices for the first incident, and the outcome of the second incident is still pending. This information is publicly verifiable on the Department of Education website. My child’s life was put at risk twice by the same centre. The trauma this has caused our family is indescribable. No parent should ever receive a call saying their child has been given an EpiPen and awaiting ambulance as their life is at risk — let alone receive that call more than once because staff “misread” something. If your child has anaphylaxis, allergies, medical conditions, or requires basic competence, DO NOT ENROL THEM HERE. Policies on paper mean nothing when staff repeatedly fail at the most basic, non-negotiable safety checks. This centre has shown, through its actions, that it cannot be trusted with children’s lives.
