Applecross Pre Kindy

We were there for a few months and thought everything was great until we received a horrible email from the owner about our child's behaviour. The owner advised they'd been watching our child for over a month, and went on to list numerous "non-age appropriate behaviours" our 3-year old was demonstrating, like hitting, struggling to share, getting up when they were having lunch, etc - all pretty standard behaviours for a 3-year old. None of the teachers had mentioned anything to us about there being a problem, so when we received this email, we were absolutely shocked and horrified. If we had known there were behavioural issues, we could've discussed it with our child at the time but by this point it was far too late. To use the owner's exact phrasing, our child had become "draining on all involved" - horrible to hear as a parent and not the language you would expect from the owner of a childcare centre. No communication about how much they've eaten, if they had a nap, any sort of toiletry updates, and obviously no communication about any sort of issues or bad behaviour they are concerned about. The teachers and facilities are lovely and this is no reflection on them. We are so glad a wonderful place opened up around the corner with teachers and owners that genuinely care and are able to discuss developmental behaviours in a supportive, caring and professional way.
