About Alfred Child Care Centre

At Alfred Child Care Centre, we implement the Australian-approved curriculum, the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). Play-based learning is the foundation of our curriculum and revolves around the children’s interests and educators’ close observations and assessment of their development. Play is interwoven with intentional teaching and provides a context for learning. Our educators work in genuine partnership with children to actively promote learning through challenging experiences and interactions that foster high-level thinking skills.

Our curriculum is inclusive of all children. We recognise that children bring their diverse experiences, perspectives, expectations, knowledge and skills to the centre. We value and build on children’s strengths, interests, abilities and cultural traditions, while using strategies such as modelling, asking open ended questions, speculating, explaining and engaging in shared thinking and problem solving, to extend the children’s learning and thinking.

We aim to establish immediate rapport and a sense of belonging in our community, as families arrive through the front door.

Alfred Child Care Centre Reviews

My 2.5 year old son goes here. He’s been there since he’s 1 years old and they have really grown to know and nurture him. The food is fantastic, they facilities up to date and the carers bonds and really teaches the kids a lot of things including being able to defend themselves. For example, they taught al the kids to say “No, stop it, I don’t like it!” To anyone who does something that they don’t like. It’s a small place with 3 classrooms. 0-2, 2-3 and pre-school. Many of the carers have been around for awhile as well. The kids read, play, sing, make pop corn, help cook muffins, go to the nearby Fawkner park for a play, and each room has an outdoor area where the kids can play. Check them out if you live in the area.
