Both of my kids went to Active Kids Ermington. What makes this place special is the lovely educators who care about the wellbeing of little ones with good management (special shout out to Ms Qiaoqiao) and yummy fresh and healthy food being catered onsite by the dedicated chef Dianne. The staff put a lot of efforts and attention in little things and organising activities. I highly recommend Active Kids Ermington for any parents who are looking for trust worthy long day care services.

Our daughter has been with Active Kids Ermington since she was 14 months. She is now 4 and is a happy, thoughtful, thriving little human. I have wanted to write a review for a while but also knew that it was important to give it a few years before I did to provide a detailed recount so that it was more helpful to parents. I recall at the beginning, feeling highly anxious and guilty leaving my baby daughter when I had to return to work after more than a year on maternity leave. However, the lovely educators were very understanding and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. They had a few strategies in place to both calm my nerves and settle my daughter. After that I knew I found the right place which made leaving her to go to work a lot easier. I recall many moments where I would send in family photos via their kindyhub app of our daughter going on holidays or doing various activities - after allowing my daughter to do a show and tell, the educators would embed it into a unique, personalised and hands-on lesson for all the children to participate. As a school teacher, I understand first-hand the significance of this. I really appreciate the effort from the educators and background work behind curating and developing lessons whilst addressing government educational standards. The educators are all friendly, they not only say hello, they put in the effort to have a conversation with me regarding my daughter. Their feedback is always very timely, encouraging and constructive. If you want to find a childcare centre that is child orientated, warm and caring, you have come to the right place. Trust when I say my husband and I are very thorough and have been through countless tours at different centres before allowing our daughter to attend here. We both felt an instant connection the moment we walked into AKE. It also helped that my husband had multiple colleagues who recommended this place as their children also attended the centre. We even had her attend another centre for the intermin before being offered a position at AKE. The other centre did not impress us like AKE. AKE will forever leave a hallmark in our hearts as a place that truly nurtured our daughter to her fullest potential. We can't thank them enough.

We enrolled our little girl at AKE when she was 1 year old and couldn’t be happier. The staff are friendly, good humoured and appear to genuinely care for & bond with the kids in their care. The menu was designed by a nutritionist I believe, and is one of the few daycare menus I’ve seen which only serve wholegrain products. They have a fairly structured daily/weekly routine which I like, and lots of creative and culturally aware activities to support young ones’ development and help them feel at home (they regularly seek input or participation from parents on activities too which is great). They provide great email updates to parents, not just about how the day went but also how our child has been developing in certain areas. I think it’s a good sign that their daily update to parents only comes at the end of the day, because they prioritise caring for the little ones over being glued to a computer, as they should. We absolutely love Miss Qiaoqiao (nursery room leader) who is approachable, patient, caring & great at what she does. She is like a 2nd mum to our daughter now, though I noticed our child has also bonded with other educators there which is fantastic. I wish I could remember everyone’s names (sometimes staff do change) but suffice to say they have a lot of lovely educators there. We always see photos of the educators holding or hugging one of the toddlers during activities, which is lovely to see. Our daughter used to cry when we dropped her off but now she walks right in without even saying bye to her parents, and cries when we try to take her home! (She’s 16 months now) We had a rough patch for a while with bad nappy rash occurring at the centre but after trialling a few different nappy creams, the problem has disappeared. All in all, we’re very happy to recommend this place to other parents. It wasn’t our nearest daycare centre but it’s been a great place for our child to thrive and we can’t wait to see how she continues to grow here!
